DESCRIPTION:The Standards of Excellence Committee is pleased to share that Black Barn Financial will be hosting a workshop for One Voice members and any staff who handle finances for One Voice organizations. Board members are welcome. \nFor nonprofits searching for a way to align their investments with their mission\, the traditional financial world can seem somewhat… unaccommodating. \nIn this seminar\, Black Barn Financial will focus on giving nonprofit leadership the language they need to navigate the investing process with a sustainable\, responsible and equity driven lens. \nJoin Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®)\, Kacie Swartz\, and Black Barn Financial founder\, Sara Glakas\, as they dedicate 90 minutes to explaining the basics of sustainable investing\, challenges to address\, and what investment committees need to know in order to start the conversation with stakeholders\, advisors and donors. \nWhat: Navigating Sustainable Investments as a Nonprofit Organization \nWho: One Voice Members and any staff who handle finances or investments for member organizations. Please go here to register. \n  \nAbout Our Speakers \nKacie Swartz\, CFPⓇ\, CIMAⓇ\nCo-Owner and Managing Partner of Black Barn Financial \nKacie Swartz is co-owner and managing partner of Black Barn Financial\, a fee-only Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) in Austin\, TX. She has been a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (TM) practitioner since 2012. She is also a Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®). Her experience includes advising endowments and foundations as well as volunteering with American Gateways\, Dress for Success and other local non-profit groups.\nKacie is a spokesperson for the CFP® board’s Women’s Initiative to attract women to the financial planning profession. She is also a member of the Financial Planning Association\, the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA)\, the Investments & Wealth Institute\, and the Ellevate Network. She has been published in national media outlets such as The New York Times\, Real Simple\, Money Magazine\, Kiplinger\, and more. \n  \nSara Glakas\nFounder and Managing Partner of Black Barn Financial \nSara founded Black Barn Financial to create a financial advisory firm that not only offers personalized services but focuses on serving clients with a growth mindset. As a financial advisor\, it’s not enough that she understands fundamental investing concepts and strategies\, she wants you to understand them\, too. \nAs part of her mission to educate those who feel removed from the investing world\, Sara started the Austin Women’s Investing Group\, an organization aimed at helping its 2\,700+ members expand their financial understanding\, proficiency and opportunities. She has taught courses on finance and investing for several programs affiliated with University of Texas at Austin and has served on the Advisory Board for the Initiative to Educate Afghan Women\, a non-profit providing financial support and leadership training for Afghan women attending university in the U.S. In 2014\, Sara won Austin Woman Magazine’s Small Business Grant Award. She currently co-hosts the podcast Women on the Verge of a Financial Breakthrough.
