The Standards of Excellence Committee is pleased to announce a member workshop hosted by The New Philanthropists on Power Dynamics & Privilege.
EVENT DESCRIPTION
Join us as we identify the different types of power dynamics between leadership teams and their boards, the cause and effects of these dynamics, and learn how to move from power hoarding to power sharing practices within leadership circles.
In addition, we will focus on how traditional nonprofit roles and practices are historically rooted in mistrust, and what strategies can be implemented to foster trust-based board service and leadership.
Guests will leave feeling more secure in their ability to:
- Understand the different types of power dynamics, cause and effects and barriers.
- Identify practical, applicable strategies to transition from power hoarding to power sharing practices in their leadership circles.
